The Wake is a contemplative performance using choreographic elements, that holds the space for the emptiness, sadness, anger and melancholy in silent and poetic images. How do forms of collective mourning differ from individualised processes? To what extent is mourning socially suppressed? And what accepted mourning rituals are there?

Accompanied by a specially produced soundtrack, it can be staged as a performance with a length of 60 to 90 minutes, but can also be presented as an installation with a durational performance.
